The 2012 Summer Olympic Games, officially known as the Games of the XXX Olympiad, was held in London, United Kingdom from 27 July to 12 August 2012. I want to tell you about the success of Ukrainian team in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
245 athletes have taken part in the London 2012 Summer Olympics.
The Ukrainians competed in 28 sports.
A total of 78 Ukrainian sportsmen competed in track and field events, 24 in rowing, 14 in swimming, ten in wrestling and judo, seven in boxing, nine in weightlifting, eight in shooting, and nine in diving.
In addition, Ukrainian athletes participated in fencing competitions, tennis and table tennis, modern pentathlon, archery, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, sailing and many other sports.
24 Olympic winners won medals in 20 kinds of competitions. They won 6 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 9 bronze ones.
Kateryna Tarasenko, Nataliya Dovgodko, Anastasiia Kozhenkova, Yana Dementieva won the gold medal in the women's quadruple sculls rowing event at the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
Denys Berinchyk won silver in light-welterweight boxing match at the London Olympics 2012.
At the 2012 Olympics in London Olena Kostevych won two bronze medals in 10 metre and 25 meter air pistol competitions.
Yana Shemyakina won Gold Medal in Women’s Individual Epee in 2012 in London Olympics.
